Lhasa Nyêmo to Qüxü - The hardest part to repair of Highway G318 in Tibet
The complex geological conditions and the changeable high-altitude and cold climate make the China National Highway 318 that runs through Tibet's Lhasa always face the potential threat of geological disasters. Today we will drive from the Nyêmo section in Lhasa to Qüxü County. The section along the Yarlung Zangbo River is often blocked by landslides and mudslides. It is now undergoing rectification and reconstruction. Our channel contains the road conditions passed in 2022, which can be compared with the construction status.
The parallel Yaye Expressway has not yet been fully completed and opened to traffic. Traffic in both directions needs to switch to G318 at the Nimu parking area in Nyêmo County, and then return to the expressway from the Chabala Service Area in Qüxü County until Century Avenue in Downtown Lhasa city.
Now please fasten your seat belts, it's time to set off on the most difficult section to maintain of China National Highway 318 in Tibet.
